As we recently posted on our blog that Florida has a new pest threat: the “Killer Bee,” also known as the Africanized honeybee. These bees have earned the nickname “killer bee” because of their extremely aggressive nature.

Across the United States, the number of Killer Bee colonies is on the rise. As the infographic shows, while killer bees are mostly concentrated to the Southwest and West, they also have infiltrated the Southern half of Florida. When you add in the fact that their migration patterns are shifting north each year, it is very possible that the entire state of Florida will soon be saturated in Africanized honeybees.

If you think you have Africanized honeybees around your home, call Slug-A-Bug immediately. These bees are dangerous and can pose a serious threat to you and your family.
